KASSAA is governed by its own constitution and by the constitutions of the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (EOSSAA) and the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA).
Sport-specific guidelines and playing regulations have also been developed at the local (KASSAA), regional (EOSSAA) or provincial (OFSAA) level.
